- Baptism — Hull, Holy Trinity (10 February 1761) — James Willson, baptised at Holy Trinity, Hull, 10 February 1761, son of John — findmypast, Yorkshire Baptisms: the parish register (East Riding Archives, PE158/4, page 14, record GBPRS/YORKSHIRE/BAP/500527488) AND, independently, the Bishop's Transcript (Borthwick Institute, York, record GBPRS/YORKSHIRE/BAP/1238149). Both name the father John Willson; the register dates it 1761, the transcript 1760, a one-year copy discrepancy of the kind common between a register and its bishop's copy. The register (image read 5 July 2026) enters each child by the father alone — 'son of John Willson' — so the mother's name is not in the baptism; it waits on John's marriage. The double-L spelling — a plain 'Wilson' search finds nothing — is why this confirming record had never surfaced against the John Willson Mum had recorded. read at the image
