Death of George aged 56 years CASE of SUICIDE On Saturday last Mr. Thorney, the Coroner, held an inquest at the Royal Oak Inn, Spencer Street on the body of a man 56 years of age, named George Graham. A man named Thomas Peal, a shoe maker, residing in Short Street, who lived in the same house as the deceased, deposed that on the previous evening, about half past eight o'clock he heard the deceased go out, and in about, and in about quarter of an hour come into the house again. Shortly afterwards witness came downstairs and saw the deceased lying on the floor. He immediately went to Mr. Hendry, Surgeon, but Mr Hendry refused to come to his assistance as he said he had attended the man before, in a case of poison and he had not been paid for it. Mr. Lambert, Surgeon, was sent for who went immediately but the man was dead. Mr. Hodgson, who made a post mortem examination detected prussic acid in the stomach which was evidently the cause of death. The jury returned a verdict accordingly. Hull Packet
