A few days ago a most tremendous storm of thunder and lightning took place at Spaldington near Howden in Yorkshire. Two valuable mares belonging to Mr. John Barker of that place, whilst grazing in a field next to their foals, were both struck dead; the electric fluid passed through their heads and burnt them in a dreadful .manner.
