William Brock

1835 – ?
✓ Validated against records · 2026-07-01

William Brock was the only child of George Brock’s second marriage. He was baptised at Haxey on 4 October 1835 — the register naming his father George, a miller then living at Balby, near Doncaster, and his mother Ann, George’s second wife, whose maiden name has not yet been found.

He was a half-brother to the George Brock through whom the main line of this family runs. After his mother’s early death he was raised in his widowed father’s household, and appears — a boy of six — beside George in the 1841 census. His later life has not been traced: this page records his place in the family rather than a life story, which lies outside the branch this history follows.
